Vernon Ready Invited to The National Trial Lawyers Top 100

General

Ready Law is proud to share that founding trial attorney Vernon Ready has been invited to join The National Trial Lawyers Top 100, an invitation-only organization of civil plaintiff and criminal defense trial lawyers from across the country.

Membership recognizes the kind of work Vern does every day on behalf of our clients: taking on well-funded corporate and insurance defendants and being willing to try a case to a jury when that is what a client’s case needs.

What is The National Trial Lawyers Top 100?

The National Trial Lawyers is a professional organization founded in 2008. The Top 100 distinction that National Trial Lawyers offers is invitation-only and is made up of premier trial lawyers who practice civil plaintiff or criminal defense law. As of December 2025, it had nearly 9,000 active members nationwide.

The organization’s mission to promote excellence in the legal profession and to be a resource for plaintiffs, victims, and consumers fits perfectly with Ready Law’s core values.

What it takes to be invited

Selection is based on a multi-phase process that combines peer nominations with independent third-party research. The organization looks at precise criteria before considering an invitation, including:

  1. Achievements, settlements, and verdicts as a trial lawyer
  2. Board certification as a trial lawyer, where applicable
  3. Nominations from leading trial lawyers, current members, and the executive committee
  4. Leadership and membership in other national and state trial lawyer organizations
  5. Rankings and ratings by leading national evaluation organizations

Because it weighs peer reputation and actual courtroom results, the invitation reflects how other trial lawyers and the profession view an attorney’s work, not just self-promotion.

What it means for Ready Law clients

For the people we represent, this is an important distinction. When an insurance company or a large corporation refuses to treat an injured person fairly, you want a lawyer whose trial work is respected by other trial lawyers and who is prepared to take the case in front of a jury. You also want a trial lawyer who is passionate about what they do and is an active member in the legal community that is always striving for excellence. That is the reputation this membership reflects.

The organization also connects its members into a national network for training, referrals, and shared strategy. For our clients, that means that we are always expanding our knowledge, expertise, and abilities to support their cases.

The work behind the recognition

Ready Law and Vern’s trial practice are built on serious trial preparation, not high-volume case processing. A recent example is Plaintiff v. Target Corporation, a premises liability case Vern tried in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado in November 2025. Our client was seriously injured in a fall at a Target store and needed multiple surgeries. Target denied responsibility, so Vern took the case to trial, and the federal jury returned a verdict of $2.698 million. Another example is the advocacy put in to turn a $400 pre-litigation offer into a $50,000 full policy limits settlement for one of our recent clients. These are very different cases, but Vern Ready puts in 100% effort in every case to get the best outcome possible.

These are the kinds of results and courtroom work that recognition from The National Trial Lawyers reflects. This distinction, combined with Vern Ready’s Million Dollar Advocates Forum award, points to top-tier advocacy.
