Vernon Ready Named to Million Dollar Advocates Forum

General

Ready Law is proud to share that founding trial attorney Vernon Ready has been admitted to the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, one of the most selective groups of trial lawyers in the country. Fewer than 1% of attorneys in the United States qualify, and there are only 5,000 members across the United States.

Vern earned this recognition after winning a $2.698 million jury verdict for his client in a trip-and-fall premises liability case, tried in federal court in Denver in November 2025.

What is the Million Dollar Advocates Forum?

The Million Dollar Advocates Forum was founded in 1993 to recognize trial lawyers who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts, awards, and settlements for their clients. It is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States, with members who qualify earning a lifetime distinction.

Unlike other awards in the legal industry, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum is an earned distinction and cannot be purchased. The awarded attorney must have an actual result for a client and be able to demonstrate evidence of that result.

What it takes to qualify

Membership is based on strict, objective standards. To qualify, an attorney must:

  1. Be a current member of the Bar in good standing.
  2. Have served as principal counsel in a case that resulted in a verdict, arbitration award, or settlement of one million dollars or more for the client.
  3. Show that the result is final and not subject to appeal or modification.
  4. Provide enough case detail for the Forum to verify the result.

Every application is reviewed by experienced counsel, and attorneys who do not clearly meet the standard are denied. A false statement on the application is treated as professional misconduct. That diligent review process is what makes this credential even more meaningful.

What it means for Ready Law clients

For the people we represent, this recognition is a straightforward signal: when an insurance company or a large corporation refuses to do right by an injured person, Vern has the experience and the track record to take the case all the way to a jury and win. Insurance companies assess risk and exposure when they are evaluating a claim, and that includes whether an injured person has an attorney and the reputation of that attorney. Combined with Vern’s invitation to the National Trial Lawyers: Top 100 distinction, this award recognizes top-tier advocacy for injured clients in Colorado.

The case that earned a place in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum

Vern earned his lifetime place in the Forum through his work in Plaintiff v. Target Corporation, a premises liability case tried in the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado in November 2025.

Our client was seriously injured in a fall at a Target store and needed multiple surgeries. She unfortunately experienced permanent nerve damage and chronic pain, despite the best efforts of her providers. Throughout, Target denied responsibility, offering a best offer of $500,000 to settle before trial. And this offer was after calling us “disingenuous” for claiming her injury was worth over $1 million. Rather than accept less than the full value of our client’s loss, Vern took the case to trial, and the federal jury returned a verdict of $2.698 million.
